Joana is a director, screenwriter and producer, in that order, but she loves to invert the order of things.
As a director, she has already made 3 documentaries: Marias, A imagem da Tolerância (co-directed with Paula Trabulsi) and Sidney Magal - Chama me que eu vou, prize for best editing at the Festival de Gramado. His first fiction feature "All Songs of Love" won the Best Film Critics Award at the 42nd São Paulo International Film Festival and won the FESTin Lisboa Best Film award. She was also one of the directors of “Só se for por Amor”, a Netflix series, and general director, alongside Carlos Saldanha, of the still unpublished “How to be a Carioca”, which premieres on Star Plus in September. As a producer, she has already signed public and critical successes such as "O Cheiro do Ralo", "Fabricando Tom Zé", "Estrada 47" and "Trinta". directed by Paulo Machline, and running “Cyclone”, by Flávia Castro. As a screenwriter, he writes, together with Carlos Saldanha and Rodrigo Nogueira, the animation “Os Saltimbancos”, scheduled to go into production in 2024.
